Player Props

The +EV Bets TeamJanuary 14, 2025
Definition
Player props are bets on individual player statistics rather than game outcomes. Common player props include passing yards, rushing yards, points scored, rebounds, strikeouts, and anytime touchdown scorer. Player props often have softer lines than main markets.
Example

Patrick Mahomes over 285.5 passing yards (-115). Derrick Henry anytime TD scorer (-120). LeBron James over 7.5 rebounds (-110). These focus on one player's performance, not the team's result.

Common Questions

Generally yes. Books put less effort into player prop lines because limits are lower. Sharp bettors who research matchups, injuries, and usage can find significant edges on props.

Focus on correlated props (team winning = star player performs well), weather impacts, matchup analysis, and situational spots. Props on less popular players often have the softest lines.
